Cherokee Blood / The Trail Of Tears is about memories from a not-so-far past, in which the white man tried to put an end to the “problem” of the presence of the Native people throughout the United States…the final solution brought to massacres, deportations, and the creation of the reservations system, in which the Natives were forced to live. They still do in many cases, and many times the consequences were, and still are, unemployment, drugs and alcohol abuse, and aviolence and murder rate that has no equal in other communities. Shame.
